   Yes    tick

   No

2.A vegetarian is generally referred to as someone who does not eat meat, but who does eat dairy products and eggs. A vegan however, does not eat or wear anything that has required using an animal. Therefore vegans, in addition to abstaining from meat, don't eat milk or cheese, don't eat eggs or honey, and don't wear leather, wool or fur. Most vegans also avoid using products that have been tested on animals. Are you a vegan? Please circle

I know some bands that have vege members... deathcab for cutie, propaghandi, rise against, cobra starship... I can't really think of anymore at the minute...

7.If you knew your favourite celebrity was a vegetarian or vegan would that influence your choice?
Please Circle

    Yes

No - I think it is more about a self thing...

8. Are you aware of issues in the community regarding animal rights? Please circle
For example:

•        Factory farming (save babe) -yes

•        Animal testing (vivisection) - yes

•        Broiler hens (free betty) -yes

•        Sheep-Mulesing - yes

•        Circuses -yes

9.Did this influence your decision to become vegetarian or vegan? Why?
Definitley, I don't think you can really look at factory farms and then say 'eating meat is natural'... nothing natural about it at all. Animal testing makes me sick, that is why I don't buy animal tested products. Broiler hens are horrid, they have so many mutations from being kept in such crappy conditions, I just don't like that meat or eggs come from those conditions.
Sheep mulesing and circuses didn't really influence me to become vegan. But I don't buy wool and I hate circuses. Except all human ones - they are great><

10.Would you consider it apart of a particular “scene” to be Vegetarian or Vegan? Please elaborate.

Hmmm I don't think so. I guess if you are a 'hippy' or look like one people would put you in the vegetarian compartment... But generally I have found vegetarians come from all walks of life and you just don't know where one will pop up and suprise you (like a jack in the box).

I suppose it might be easier for some people to only hang around other vegetarians or vegans, makes it easier to eat in groups and people probably wouldn't harrass you as much...

Good luck with the assignment

Non-vegans seems to see it as a scene or something to do but it's much more than that. It's a selfless choice you make, to do something for animals instead of ignoring the facts

10.Would you consider it a part of a particular “scene” to be Vegetarian or Vegan? Please elaborate.

No. Some may do it for health reasons, but I think most of us make that connection between the food we eat and the flesh of a living being. And on further reading, make that connection between dairy and animal abuse.

well of course, there all giant reasons to be a vegetarian/vegan, if they weren't there not as many people would be veg.

10.Would you consider it apart of a particular “scene” to be Vegetarian or Vegan? Please elaborate

no, its one of those things that i don't think can really be categorized into a scene, its to much of a personal choice where only you really decide what goes in your mouth so from that you'll find all sorts of people in different groups who are vegetarian/vegan.

then there are also those who do it for things like health and religion, but still thats just a reason, not really a following crowd sort of thing.
