I agree! There are too many people being pressured to put aside their dreams - and that's what I've been doing. Shame that the need for money often gets in the way of happiness.
I've gotten to the stage that I don't see the point in living if I'm not doing what makes me happy.
A guy I know wrote this on Facebook and it seems particularly fitting:
"You spend 1/3 of your life working, 1/3rd of your life sleeping and 1/3rd of your life doing everything else, so the first two had better be pretty special given you've only got so much time on this rock.
Dont settle for less.
Enjoy your work, get the best bed you can afford and the most sumptuous manchester you can get your hands on, and if either of these things aren't true, dont think about it, fix it.
You owe yourself nothing less than the best."
I think it's a wonderful quote. So many of us spend our lives doing things we don't enjoy... And why? Life is too short for that. As corny as this sounds, reach for your dreams! A change from living a seemingly 'meaningless' existence to doing something you really want to do makes all the difference in the world. Although it's a different situation, I've finally resigned from a job I've been in for 4 1/2 years and not enjoyed, to fly around Australia and eventually the world for a living. Change is as good as a holiday. I think you should definitely go for it! It sounds like you're exceedingly talented, so there would definitely be money to be made.
I've got years of experience in writing and editing (I've edited countless publications/research based books), so if you need help with anything specific don't hesitate to ask. Good luck!
