I am making a ginger bread house in cooking in school and they only supply caged eggs i know, pretty bad huh? anyway, i need ideas on what i can replace the egg with. (other pantry ingredients like cornflour, water etc; not things like "no egg")
Half a mashed banana will replace an egg really well in baked goods, as will blended silken tofu (one quarter of a cup per egg). Not sure if it will affect the structural integrity of your gingerbread house. Are you not allowed to use No Egg? I know there's another remedy using oil and something else, but I can't remember the ingredients. Oh, ground flax seeds mixed with water work well too.
Cornflour works wonderfully! It doesn't alter the taste of baked goods, whereas I find tofu gives things a weird texture/flavour (but then again, I don't really like tofu!).
yeah, i can't figure out what egg is for anyway after years of not using it for things .... should be fine without it lol! ( i do give my friends my No Egg box) when they want to cook things for me
