I contacted MadMex today to find out if their bean burrito was vegan-friendly with the exclusion of cheese and sour cream. I got a vague response back though it seemed to indicate that it was (although pans are shared but "cleaned thoroughly"). I've pursued it a bit further so that I can post with confidence- but thought I'd open to floor to any cruelty free mexican places you guys knew of?
I remember reading somewhere that zambrereo's cook their beans in butter (n).
I believe that Bondi Beach Burrito Co's roasted vegetable and tofu burritos are vegan if you omit the cheese and cream, although the cheese wasn't on the menu for it it was inside it anyway so make sure no cheese!
just got another email back confirming it to be vegan.
good news
burp is pretty good in adelaide. i remember one time we were touring and they had the "world's hottest chilli" or something that we all tried.
nasty stuff.
I apologise in advance, but it is hard to answer that question as it seems that there are different levels of vegan. For example we do use the same bowls to mix our sour crème and also to mix our salsas.
That said, our veggie products are meat and animal product free. Our salsas/guacamole/rice/beans/veggie mix/ do not include any animal products. Our cheeses and sour creams, do contain milk.
