I don't think people should be buying any pets, though if they were to rescue a carnivorous/omnivorous one then it is understandable that they need to feed it meat. Though if possible you should be trying to buy meat which has been more humanely produced (i.e. free range) or as someone else said feed your pet the leftover animal bits that humans don't tend to eat.

my opinion on ferrets is based on only what i have seen in documentaries and what i saw at someones house once... they literally had 50 ferrets, in tiny cages
the smell was absolutely disgusting.
i cannot justify supporting the one thing i am against as a vegan.
and i would never pay someone money to slaughter another animal, to feed to an animal either
therefore i would not keep a ferret.
i'm not saying what you're doing is wrong, but personally i wouldn't do it(keep a carnivorous animal)
if you are feeding it "waste meat" that is just going to be thrown away anyway, that is definitely the best option.

i definitely think there is a difference between keeping an animal in a large cage to keep it safe/ letting it out for majority of the time vs imprisoning an animal in a tiny cage.
i was actually meaning like fish kept in small tanks their whole lives/birds in tiny cages ect
it's so cruel, animals aren't meant to be imprisoned sad

and don't be sorry, i like hearing about your animals! you treat them so well

one day in-vitro meat will be affordable so you can feed that to your carnivorous buddiess lol
