I know you're avoiding soy, but for those that aren't.... try Sanatarium vanilla soy milk (half a glass) 1 banana and 2 handfuls of frozen mixed berries. Blend. Drink. Awesome
1 cup almond milk
1 large banana
5 Brazil nuts
1 large handful berries
1 pinch himalayan rock salt
1/8 cup gogi berries, soaked for 10 minutes
1 tablespoon agave syrup
Sort of on this topic, does anyone have any recommendations of blenders? I've never been entirely happy with any blender we've had in the past, either it's too fiddly and annoying to set up, or the blades aren't big enough, or it has that little ridge at the bottom where stuff gets stuck in. Does anyone own a blender that they just adore and think is the bee's knees?

I have a russel hobbs one which is pretty good, it was about $100 on sale and has a million different settings on it, ie: Crush ice, smoothie, cocktail, high, low, puree'
But, I've been told vitamix is the way to go. I probably would have gotten one if I had a spare $800........

Eek, yeah I've looked at vitamix before and nearly had a heart attack at the price. Same with the kitchenaid mixer I wanted to buy
Rehydrate some dried goji berries (just let them sit in water for an hour), then throw the berries and water in with one banana, some frozen mixed berries and some flaxseeds. yum!
Save some money and purchase 'lechumia' berries from asian specialist grocers, save 40-50-60%? I've heard 'cheaper than raisins'

Some people in particular the 'Hippocrates Center' are claiming that heavy blender-er-ering can reduce the nutritional value of fruits and vege upto 90%. Now this is a claim not as of yet backed by science. So 3 horse-powered blender may be more than a house-holds needs.
Check it out!
