I dont see how people find it entertaining honesty! - when i went all i wanted to do was leave, people yelling, drinking, laughing at dogs as they fell ect. It made me emotionally and physically sick.
As i saw the first greyhound fall i nearly bursted into tears and the guy next to me said " f**k there is $150 down the drain - f**king useless mutt" . i looked at him and said " are you only concerned about your money and not for the poor dog" and he said " well thats what they do, run - thats all there good for" It gives you a real sence of what these dogs are worth in these people's eyes. i could of took everyone of them home with me.
Do you know how its currently going with this campaigne?
Hi,
Its refreshing to read the words of someone who really gets it. Its such an obscure factory industry..
The downside is we didnt stop it, but its only being run in Tasmania and Victoria as I understand. This indicates a win as it was nationwide last year I think.
Hopefully it serves to unite campaigners against greyhound racing far more than it stands to make the McG F money. It will make the gambling industry money too, in times where their allure is fading.. So one might say the McGrath Foundation have just lent their brand to the gambling industry, so to top up racing industry turn over, for reasons unknown.
Beyond making a "save the pink dog" website I'm kinda out of long range ideas.

Edit: But we are encouraging people to ring them and voice their concerns:
Just found this on facebook - CCF group by Juta Stokes:
"Rest In Peace - The Pink Dog. On Monday, Feb 21st, a greyhound racing on a track in Tasmania broke his right hock (a common racing injury) and his owner chose for his to be put to death by the track vet, rather than let him live out his life as a pet. The dog's name was Whitney's World, he was two years old and he started from box 8, wearing a pink vest, as part of a campaign to raise money for The McGrath Foundation. Please share this on the wall of the charity and let them know that endangering dogs is not an acceptable way to raise money"
