Today whilst at the supermarket I told my mum that I needed new toothpaste, so whilst looking at the toothpaste I said how annoying it was that they didn't have White Glo, which I know to be vegan. My mum said, "What's wrong with Colgate?" and I told her that it was tested on animals, whereas White Glo is not. She said, "So what if it's tested on animals? It's not hurting them. Don't worry about it." She refused to believe me when I listed all the cruelty inflicted on animals used for testing, so I said "Can I show you a video?" and she said, "No!" because I think she could tell I was going to show her disgusting videos of animal testing, yet when I said, "Do you believe me then?" she said no. I said well then let me show you the video, and she said no. Hopefully that's not confusing
I can't wait for 2 and a half years when I'll be able to get my P's and be able to go out on my own search for cruelty-free products.
Anyone else have any problems growing up with their parents, or with their friends choosing to ignore the cruelty inflicted on animals?
