I have lots of tofu in the fridge and it's awfully cheap so I'd love to use lots of it. I became vegan a month and a half ago but have been vegetarian for 2 and a half years. I need some ideas of how to use it. So guys, what are your favourite tofu recipes? happy

I find that even the most plain tofu recipes can be made de-lic-ious by deep-frying the tofu in oil for a few minutes until it begins to brown. Adds a little bit more fat to the meal but we save in that department by not eating meat and dairy. I say go for it  laugh

The tofu recipe in this recipe:

I live for that stuff. Me and my mum often eat it on its own, on toast, and I love it in wraps! My omni friends also love it and were pretty surprised that tofu could taste that good

salt and pepper tofu so delish,
tried this the other day made it at home..
equal parts satl and white pepper (both at a fine consistency) and then open up the tofu pack and drain it, then cut it into small squares probably 8 per pack? then tip it out onto a plate VERY CAREFULLY, put the salt and pepper mix onto a plate and roll the tofu peices in it, then heat a deep fryer (if you don't have one like me you can just use a wok or a fry pan like i did) and fill it up with oil until its HOT make sure that its hot because you only want to heat the tofu and crisp the outside.

This! I am addicted. The first time I tried the recipe I ended up making it EVERY DAY for a couple of weeks. It's so so good and so adaptable. I use it in wraps, on pizza, stirfries, in pasta... freaking delicious. And so quick! For extra oomph I'll marinate the tofu a day in advance (whatever you have on hand is fine -- I'm always throwing also sorts of random things into a ziploc bag with the tofu) or if I'm feeling lazy I'll buy one of those expensive-but-delicious pre-marinated tofu packs from the supermarket (LOVE the thai one especially, but they all taste great).

My boyfriend hated tofu (he wouldn't touch the stuff!) before I forcefed him tofu made this way -- now he's as addicted as I am. If we could eat it all day every day we could (I use Vegeta seasoning, I think it makes it extra delicious!).

Lately I've been craving curried egg sandwiches so I mixed some uncooked silken tofu with Praise Lite mayo, curry powder, salt and pepper -- just like the real thing! Yummm.

Sticky Tofu

1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Slice tofu, coat in mixture, let sit for 10mins then grill.

Om nom nom!

Goes great in a salad.
