Hi Janine

One of the processing aids that we used comes from animal so it is not suitable for Vegans.

I have read this reply from Darrell Lea a while ago on another page.

I would be interested in knowing more as well, since the ingredients look 100% vegan on the packaging.

That would be great thanks happy
I have had some companies tell me their product wasn't vegan before, only to email them back and find out that the product actually is in fact vegan, and they just thought it wasn't because it had traces of milk in it :S
I hope something like that is the case here!

I got a reply today, this is it:

Good Morning Janine

The processing aid used in our liquorices is called Capol (which originated from animal). The capol is to prevent the liquorices from sticking together and this type of capol is commonly used widely in confectionery industry.

We are currently in the process of changing our capol with the non animal origin and this will be available in our store soon.
