Le Fur have this on their shop front window.

"Our furs only come from animals that are used for human consumption or environmental protection. These furs are sourced from Australia, United states and Canada where animal protection laws govern the trade. We do promote the use of renewable fibres, like cotton, wool, leather and fur, but we DO NOT condone the slaughter or mistreatment of animals. We take strict measures to ensure that this is not how are garments are produced"

I had a conversation with the owner after reading this and this these are the problems:

1) She informed me that her Mother actually purchases most of the garments from their home city in China, Haining.
2) She does not know exactly what the factories are the came form.
3) She admitted that she could not substantiate the claims made in the note on their window.

A pretty ballsy thing to have posted in your front window I would have thought.

I have reported them to the ACCC.

Will let you know what they say.

Animal Liberation SA will be protesting on Rundle Street on Saturday 30th July at 10:30 starting outside Le Fur.  Please join us and like the ALSA page to stay in touch re further actions we'll be organising.

i just got wind of today tonight doing a story on fur in adelaide next week, they are filming a protest on monday and here are the details if any of you want to come along.
URGENT CALL TO ACTION
meet outside Miss Gladys Sym Choon store, 335A Rundle Street , East End on Monday June 25 at 12:30 pm. This is really important. Please bring anti fur banners if possible.

I also think the protests will include the other stores around adelaide that sell fur

Sounds like a few stores in Adelaide will be getting some freepublicity for people who love fur:

Protestors: "Fur is bad, this person sells fur, stop fur it is cruelt, fur is animal skin!"

Audience: " ooohh.. mmm .. so that's where I can buy my fur from!"

Protesting only works if everyone has the same view of the same thing,
and you are alerting the public to it going on under their noses like:

"this person is selling toxic stuff in their soup of the day"

and everyone is like "omg I hate toxic stuff, this is appauling!"

Good luck though, I just don't beleive in this as an apporiate method.

I think in this day and age, in terms of raising revenue and interest,
if what you're doing in politics isn't daring and brash enough to get
a protest going, it isn't worthwhile doing.

Not my view, I get the sense this is what it is like on the 'other side'
of the picket fence.

I disagree Casper.  This protesting /campaigning has brought attention to the issue and now it's going to get air time on TV so protesting can be a very effective form of activism.

People that sell show they are extremely uneducated or have no heart.

Alot of fur says its fake but as studies have shown alot is real  It its cheaper to kill dog, cats and other voiceless animals for fur then it is to use fake.

I hate the industry and would never wear any type of fur.

As long as some poignant points are raised yes.

SO someone please research some truths, some facts about maybe skinning will be the best approach and how wide spread it is. Don't make it seem like this is the absolute truth and you should get more people on side than if you deem it all guilt ridden.

Because people will respond naturally and in their minds that 'UNKNOWING which fur is which' will only give room to taint the idea of fur as the best option.

Though if you're very successful and people who love the look of fur stop buying real fur, the amount of synthetic stuff will be sickening. Literally.

SO make your points clear and what needs to be reformed in the least,
otherwise hope noone wears anything impractically fashionable.

As that is wasteful in the same regard. Eco-toxicity and stufffff
