From what I know, there have been tests to see if a vegan diet is sufficient, and they discovered that it can be more than sufficient for anyone, even during pregnancy.

Has anyone seen anything to suggest that this diet can negatively affect their health? I have not found anything to reliably suggest that it is dangerous yet.
Yeah, but that information is given out by the people who want to make money and kill more animals- and say that they treat their animals "humanely", like my government.  angry

the kindest thing you can do for those children and their long term health is feed them a vegan diet. Most chronic diseases of excess have thier foundations cememted in childhood. Nutrition is about sources, it doesn't matter what the sources is so long as the nutrient is obtained so why does it have to come from an animal. Truth is no nutrient has to come from an animal for us to enjoy optimal health. You are not forcing your views, from a scientific point of view a plant based diet is correct for the human animal, that is how we are made, scientific fact. We are herbivores by nature and our body retaliates when the wrong fuel is put into it as it should. You don't feed your children rats, babboons, possums, so just add another 5 animals to that long list that you already don't feed them. Hell there is nothing wrong with sugar (sugar addict alert) raw sugar is ok, first principle, sugar does not cause diabetes, dairy products do, its an auto immune disorder that I won't go into here, so the first thing is get all dairl out of the kids diets if you want to give them a sporting chance at having a long healthy life, if you require more info as to how harmful milk products are go here notmilk.com its a very scary read indeed.
