okay, so just before on the train (i'm still on shes giving me death stares! Haha) it is packed, and i had a bag next to me on my seat, my bag, and so this lady wearing fur (i could tell) and she goes '' Can i sit there? '' and i go '' ye- wait. Is that real fur? Or fake? '' and she goes '' ah, well it's real of course. It's so warm in this kind of weather '' and i give a digusted face and go '' UHH.. NO. I DONT SIT NEXT TO PEOPLE WHO WEAR DEAD ANIMALS.. DO YOU KNOW THAT ONCE BELONGED TO A BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL? FUR IS MEANT TO STAY ON ANIMALS NOT HAVE OT SKINNED OFF, WHILE THEY A FULLY ALIVE '' and the whole train starts looking at me, and she looks surprised and says '' skinned alive? Haha. Silly girl, you don't know. Now can you please move your bag ''
And i put my legs up on the seat and go '' NO. AND YOU THINK THEY ARN'T SKINNED ALIVE? WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HOW THEY GET YOUR DISGUSTING JACKET? NOTHING. NO YOU CAN STAND UP, GET AWAY FROM ME '' and she looks angry, and i refused to move my legs or bag, then until the train starts and she falls, and moves up, standing there for a 30 minute long train ride.... And no handles to hang on to happy
Do you think i was too mean?

I'm sure there would be a YouTube video of an animal being skinned. Perhaps if you happen to see her again, show it to her. People don't want to know the truth. It's too easy living in denial!

Perhaps you could have been a little more ethical with the way you approached that conversation. Rather than basically immediatly yelling at her. (I'm assuming you were yelling based on your all caps, correct me if I'm wrong tongue ) For all you know she may think it's no worse than leather, which obviously in our books is unagreeable, but seems to be more accepted in society. I just think perhaps you could have had a more informative discussion that resulted in opening her mind a bit wider rather than yelling and refusing to let her have a seat. It's that kind of thing that can give animal activists a bad reputation.
No offense meant, just my opinion. peace

I agree with what you said, but not at all with how you said it. I don't think yelling or otherwise offending people is helping our cause at all.

Regardless of whether you were yelling or not, it still didn't get you anywhere in her mind or opinion did it? It would have appeared to others that you ARE an immature 13 year old girl throwing some sort of tantrum. I'm not saying that is what you were doing, I know it can be fustrating when it's animals lives we are talking about, but sometimes us "enlightened folk" need to hold our tongues and think "will this help in any way?" before we speak. peace

I didn't think what i did was very mature of me. tongue I realise... its because i was in the worst mood, the last thing i needed was a fur wearing walking in to sit next to me... i should of spoke calmy and not telling her to kiss my ass tongue I should of gave her information, or a leaflet i had. :S
