although i am vegan i still have a leather saddle and bridle for my horse, i hate it,sad sad but i cant afford to buy all new gear because i spent alot of money on my treeless saddle and bitless bridle making everything as confortable as possible for my horse...when i didnt realise the cruelty i was supporting by buying leather....but i will NEVER buy leather ever again! you are not making a difference by throwing out all of your leather and wool items, the main thing is NEVER buying them again!! i have actualy felt realy bad having those leather products and calling myself a vegan so it is actualy conforting hearing that other vegans still have/ use some of their old stuff that isnt vegan happy

Seriously, where in the hell did I say that wool wasn't cruelty? I simply do not have the funds to throw away all my clothing and buy new vegan clothing. I can't buy new clothing AT ALL. I did not want to falsely advertise that I do not wear wool. Thanks for forcing your shit on me when I already struggle with the fact that I wear wool. -___-

All I asked was how to un-pledge, read my freakin' question before you respond. Gah, as bad as bible bashers.
To be fair, your original post didn't give much information and that's why people assumed as they did. I also thought everyone else was fairly polite and didn't attack you personally?

if you could afford it would you buy a new one when you have a perfectly good one that will last longer and cost less damage to the environment that the brand new synthetic one?

chemicals bad. using what you have and loving it, good.

Thanks for the information Jesse! That really clears things up. But, now that I know that all I have to do is refrain from buying clothing that uses animals for production, I can happily oblige to follow my pledge. happy

Thank you for all you amazing people who are calm and level-headed and take a moment to understand what's going on before attacking. And those of you whom misunderstood me, I'm sorry for the confusion.

Those of you who think it's my fault for not being clear enough... I asked a question, because I was having a specific problem. Thanks to those who cleared it all up for me though, I feel very happy! happy

I haven't bothered to read all the comments, so I figure I'll respond to this. I have a pair of sheepskin ugh boots that I still wear because they are warm and I'm not the kind of person to throw away something already purchased. However I will never buy a sheepskin, leather or wool product again, so I'm still pledged. That shouldn't matter, it's how you choose your purchases in the future that counts. peace

I bet that lady just thought what a stupid little girl and that will not stop her from wearing fur, but proberly continue, this experiance proberly also changed peoples minds about animal activists ( in a bad way )

Yeah don't pick on AllyCat, she did the right thing ... REMEMBER THE ANIMALS CAN'T SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES... You are the VOICE for the animals.  ALLY did the right thing bringing the woman to an awareness of her callous action.

I believe there are people all over the world in dire need of clothes, food, water and love.  I believe that we are fortunate to own the clothes we have for now, I believe that throwing things away before their time is up, is wasteful and shows little regard for those less fortunate.  I believe that Veganism is a journey after years and years of habit that we are born into. I believe that as long as you are doing your very best then you can be peaceful even if you are still wearing your old clothes  love
