what are the expectations?

is it rugged, it is in the field or IT based where ever the volunteer resides?

I could try and take photos/document the process for you
and am capable at taking directions.

also, what part of Australia and what is the project?

Or is it just a hands on assistant volunteer type role...

I am a vltr at a couple of places, so I understand the changing nature or need,
but some details would not go a stray ^___^

Hi Casper
The caretaker program is for one too two months all depends how much time you wanna volunteer for. Its at Epping National Park which is in QLD. You stay and live at the national park looking after the wombats. Jobs include looking after the dingo fence, the cattle fence, taking hair samples, taking video off the wombats and just looking after the them. They are one off the most endangered animal in the world ( 138 left ). The national park is restricted access, so the only people who ever get to see this animals, are the park rangers and the caretakers. So at the moment my name is down for the program, but there has to be two people for safety reasons, so i'm trying to find a partner now.
If you need any more infor let me know.
Mark

I'm guessing being Vegan isn't an issue then ~P~.
Hmm, is it like the programs in Malaysia looking after Orang-utan,
where you pay an amount for the privilege?

I mean... i'm pov... I assume I will be buying my food which is fine.
But is it an expensive sort of Volunteering?

Sounds like it would be great experience. Also a good chance
to put my camera skills to the test.

My Sister lives in Brisbane, but if living at the National Park is organized,
this would be superb. Waking up to the role each day.

I havn't much experience with animals, mostly indigenous plants (to a small extent in the Flinder's Rangers), so I would be learning and the only skills I really have to offer,
are my sensibilities and willingness to help. Also maybe I can figure out this wild filming thing. (p.s. the tasks you mentioned give a nice insight thank you)

Anyway, feel free to e-mail me the when and how some time
and I will start looking for flights ^_^. Also affirm with you if I can do this
(regarding the when).
