Ronnie, 50-60 rednecks, 10,000, 10, it doesn't matter. At the end of the day animals are being mistreated by people with a blatant disregard for the welfare of others. It is unacceptable on any scale.

Members of Animals Australia Unleashed congregate on this forum with one main concern, the welfare of animals. Telling other members to go kill themselves is highly inappropriate. You are free to disagree with individuals based on political issues etc, but do not make the attacks personal. While I acknowledge someone did make a generalisation about all Americans based the actions of others, I believe you will see this point of view was not necessarily shared by others, and may have been made merely in the heat of the moment out of anger regarding the cruelty turtles are subjected to at this event. Rather than creating frivolous arguments with others, we should keep in mind the reason we are here.

I know cruelty makes us angry and frustrated, but it's not constructive to lay blame on entire populations of people. Even if it was said without seriousness, this forum welcomes international members and it therefore makes the statement offensive.

Americans are by far the worst humans alive! they torture any animal just for their own amusement! it makes me sick! They have rodeos where the animals are so afraid they result in anger trying to get the humans off their back, its funny to them. Then they have aligator hunting, again shooting innocent aligators just for their ammusement. And now hearing this about those turtles being take from their own natural habitat for someones amusement is disgusting. Petition signed.
1) Don't generalize people. Americans don't think Aussies are all like Crocodile Dundee.
2) America is not the only country where animals are TORMENTED for sport.
3) In areas of the United States the Alligator population is dangerously large, they must be culled for the safety of the human population.
4) How are you going to determine if an alligator is an "innocent alligator" ?
5) We're talking about like 50-60 rednecks, and only a few of them are messing with the turtles.

Well then, vote against this supposed 'Norm' and state your stance against people associating you with people you find appalling. Making clear it isn't normally accepted.

Yes there is a great overpopulation on the planet of Humans... your so called "Don't Generalize People Red Necks" are enough to cause trouble for a whole species...

So why shouldn't a whole then ineffectual country be made to show face and front the problem?

Though I guess it is better than some countries who say they're trying, but are selling their ethical ground away as fast as they gain it. Ahem.

Also if you're going to divert the whole topic to another species of animal because of an old movie.... then erm...

Well... it was a movie for one. Try the agent orange forests. Not all Americans did it, maybe a handful were involved. So I mean... iz all cool?

yuh sorry, there are nice people all over the world, I don't even really pertain to ideals of identifying as a nation as much as being human... but when talking about americas it is different.. because they are ALL SO AMERICAN in their own eyes. ~P~

It is difficult to set them apart when you're annoyed about something. People can identify as singular things all they like, it should make them be more defensive about who  is calling themselves American, not about speculative qualms of 'outsiders'.

but feel free to remove my comment about americans saving baby sharks,
it was pretty bigoted/silly
