Hi Bacon, welcome to Unleashed, and thanks for offering your point of view
I don't think you'd find many people on here who are trying to force anyone to do anything. I'd much rather provide people with the knowledge to make their own informed choices about how they choose to treat animals.
Like you and I, pretty much everyone cares about animals. As you rightly point out, the fur trade is a dreadfully cruel industry. Fortunately, most people know about the abuses in the fur trade, however there are a lot of other cruel things done to animals in other industries, that many people don't realise are going on.
Sadly, in our modern society, most of us are quite distanced from the production of the food we eat.. and as a result many people simply don't know how animals are treated. This means industries have gotten away with doing some things that I'm sure you would agree are pretty dreadful, such as locking mother pigs in crates where they can't turn around for most of their lives, cut parts off piglets without anaesthetic, etc; or even the way battery hens are confined. (eg. what's covered in this vid:

Wouldn't you agree that it's important for people to make informed choices?.. to have all the facts so that they can ensure they are not financially supporting practices that they themselves would never dream of doing to animals.
That's what Unleashed is all about, giving young people the power to make informed choices. If you want to find out more about these issues, I'd definitely recommend you check out Earthlings (
