I didn't go to the show, but I was told by my friends that they had Pig Racing. The pigs were made to run around a track then jump off a high wooden platform into a pool of water.
I really thought it would of been banned here!
So I am going to write to the council, and hope that they won't let it back next year. They also had a circus with lions, dogs and ponies. I'm not sure if they had an elephant, but they did last year.
Have any of you heard of this? I'm just really shocked.
yep ive seen pig racing on youtube, there's also guinea pig racing. i find all these stuff cruel and the circus animals go through torture everyday if they don't do what they are told
I saw pig racing at the Adelaide show. They divide the crowd into like 4 groups and have each section cheer for one pig then release them and people scream and go crazy. One of the pigs is trained to jump off a diving board onto a pool of water and they also dress some other pig up like a girl.
Put the cruelty out of the picture for a moment, how on earth do people find that entertaining??? "yay lets watch a pig run and jump into the water" umm, ok then. its like on the earthlings movie they have PIGEON BOWLING. wha the???? why is it a source of entertainment for people, why is it so appealing? i just dont get it
i was at the show with my extended fam and they wanted to see the flying pigs but i convinced them not to because it is just sick
pigs running then jumping into the water? how is that entertaining?
i don't think my extended fam got it *sad face*
I will admit I used to think the pig racing was adorable... but really only for the cuteness of the little pigs rather than them running around having people screaming at them... I have only ever watched one race, and it was kinda sad. I can't say I have ever witnessed pig diving. That is just wrong. Pigs don't dive ffs.
