I really need your help..
My partner and I are travelling around Australia this year, starting in April...and will keeping travelling until our funds run out. But i am hoping at least a couple of years on the road.
We are going to be camping and spending weeks at a time in the bush.
I need some healthy and tasty meals that I can make using only dry and canned ingredients and frozen ingredients but only a very small amount of freezer stuff.
Just need a few different ones. So i can always have emergency meals.
List of necessities:
-Canned fruit (Peaches and pears...)
-Canned veggies (Corn and peas...)
-Vegetarian refried beans
-Canned black beans
-Canned red beans
-Tofu (Should come in a freezer package)
Fry 1 can of chick peas (drained) for 2-4 minutes or until softened.
Add a can of crushed tomatoes (the kind with added herbs, garlic, onion).
Add salt and curry powder to taste.
Simmer for 5-10 or until chick peas are tender.
Serve with boiled rice.
Nothing fancy but that's all canned/dry! (Except the water for the rice, but I've assumed you'll have water)
cans of baked beans and spaghetti, maybe foods like Leda bars (for snacks) that have a long ~shelf life~. those two fruits things in the plastic containers that keep forever, uhm.. you could always take like a box of taco shells and some refried beans tacos on the go nomnom.
gah sorry this was probably really unhelpful - if i think of anything else i shall return.
A nice and easy salad I like consists of canned corn kernels, canned black beans, and diced tomato, avocado and purple onion. Of course avocado probably can't be canned so you can substitute that with cucumber
