Hey,
I'm going to Melbourne in a few months with some friends and we'll be staying a few days each in Southbank and Ascot Vale.
What are some of your favourite vegan friendly restaurants that would also appeal to omnis?

Also we have a few days spare, so what touristy things are there to do in Melbourne?

Hit the veg friendly Brunswick Street in Fitzroy!

There are so many options and all of my omni friends have been very impressed with taste, price and service..

Vegie Bar is very very hip popular with an extensive menu.

Just down the road Yong Green's food is amazing (beautiful Asian cuisine)
recommend the 'cheese' cake it is divine.

Madame K's is vegetarian.

Victoria Street in Richmond has a few beauties on offer too
- Loving Hut
- Fina's vegetarian cafe (fab authentic Vietnamese food)

As for sight seeing it depends what you are into. There are loads of lanes with street art that are worth a look if that is your thing? - the streets surrounding Brunswick street where all the veg restaurants are is awesome.

When are you visiting?

Enjoy your stay!

Oh and in Collingwood you have to try

Trippy taco... LOVE their burrito!!!

and

Las Vegan http://www.lasvegan.com.au/

- fantastic inexpensive food.  Quesidilla's are yummo, T&T wrap is great, they make a mean satay sauce!

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, that helps heaps!
We are flying down in July for the PAX convention which is on at the showgrounds. But we are arriving a couple of days in advance to have a look around because a few of us have never been to Melbourne before.
Definitely will check out the street art.
