Hey guys
So I have got a 4 minute speech to d for english(I know it's tiny!!)
I chose to do on factory farming for two reasons
A. I can easily talk about it
B.i can inform my class mates on the cruelty that is going on in the world around them

Anyway I would really appreciate some important facts that people think would be good to include in my speech and also does anyone know the average sizes of the cages that pigs and chickens are kept in?
Plz help!!

Some key points to convince people (other than animal cruelty)

A cow has to eat 16 kilos of grain to make one kilo of beef - this is unfair to starving people who could eat the grain

According to the United Nations, animal agriculture is the number one cause of greenhouse gas emissions

This might be helpful:

Factory farming causes a lot more human deaths than any other business- Many workers are constantly hospitalized. Many of these workers are poor people who can't afford issuance. Women are sometimes put on the most dangerous jobs.

You could also mention how uneconomical for the environment this is, and not only vast amounts of grain but water!! And also water pollution...
There are some great points like this in this lecture by Peter Singer:

I think you can cram everything into four minutes. I had a two minute speech to do earlier about the Captive wildlife Crisis and got everything in.
