At the moment I am listening to alot of deathcore, screamo, some alternative heavy stuff.. My failsafe bands are:
DWP
The Acacia Strain
Impending Doom
Emmure
The Eyes of a Traitor
Suicide Silence
Some good bands Turtwigs.  A real tragedy about Mitch Lucker though.

I listen to a lot of hardcore. Mostly bands from WA like Miles Away, The Others, and Refrain. But I also like some overseas bands like Carry On and Mindset. The intense live show and direct nature of the lyrics is what drew me to the genre. Hardcore also opened my mind to veganism.

On the other side I also listen to a bit of Chipmusic, which is a style of music created using vintage computers and video game consoles. This style has opened my mind to other forms electronic music also. Personal faves would be Infinity Shred, Biographs, and Fighter X.

I wonder how many others have been drawn to veganism because of hardcore, as I know a lot of those bands are 'straightedge', which I think is great.

Veganism is quite normal in hardcore. There is a current vegan hardcore band from Perth called Truthseeker who are pushing the animal rights message which is cool.  Sometimes there are vegan bake sales at the local all ages venue, it's great!

Yeah, I think there are a lot of bands that are 'vegetarian' or 'vegan', not just in hardcore. I have friends in a death metal band and they live that lifestyle as well.
