I googled recently  and find that nowdays faux fur coat has developed amazingly and it can even compete with real fur in styles and color. And the price is  several times cheaper than real fur.So i don't understand why so many people still buy real fur.
What do you think of faux fur and will u buy it?
happy

I personally don't see why anyone would want to look like they are wearing dead animals.

I don't like the look of it, but i wouldn't have a problem if someone else did happy it doesn't hurt any animals, and most people assume it is fake nowadays anyway

I personally think buying faux fur just perpetuates the idea that fur is fashionable, and if it's as similar as you say it is, then people won't know that it's faux unless you tell them.
I wouldn't buy it myself, but I would definitely encourage other people to buy it over real fur!

I think the main problem here is truly distinguishing what is faux. Fur is actually cheap to produce when using stolen chinese dogs and cats.. Big companies like Myer have even unknowingly sold real fur disguised as faux fur in the past. It turned out to be puppy fur.

As you said, faux fur has come a long way. Such a long way in fact that the average consumer can not even tell the difference, which means we have to rely on tags.. which can be deceptive too.

The market knows that so many are against fur these days so they collect dogs and cats, skin them and sell the fur as fake.

Yes, i heard that some faux fur has turned out to be cat or dog fur at last. This makes  people doubt the honesty of faux fur manufacturers.

haha, it seems not so persuasive to encourage others to buy faux fur if  YOU are not willing to buy

Well In adelaide last year today tonight actually did a test of many fake furs in stores and most came back with cat dna.. fake fur is NOT safe from cruelty, especially when most clothing comes from china.
(here is the link to the report btw http://www.todaytonightadelaide.com.au/stories/fake-fur)

Don't take the risk..

It have to be admitted that there exits some dishonest sellers behind the disguise. But we can't lose faith in faux fur.We need more authoritative supervision.
