A few a really like are:

"The question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but rather, "Can they suffer?"” - Jeremy Bentham

"As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony between people. Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together." - Isaac Bashevis Singer

"The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man." -Charles Darwin

"As long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seeds of murder and pain cannot reap the joy of love." - Pythagoras

"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the “Universe,” a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." -Albert Einstein

"We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form." -  William Ralph Inge

"Life is life--whether in a cat, or dog or man. There is no difference there between a cat or a man. The idea of difference is a human conception for man's own advantage."
- Sri Aurobindo

“Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not find himself peace.” Albert Schweitzer

"Animals are my friends...and I don't eat my friends." George Bernard Shaw

"Man is the only real enemy we have. Remove Man from the scene, and the root cause of hunger and overwork is abolished forever. Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest he keeps for himself." George Orwell, Animal Farm

"If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others... why wouldn't we?" Edgar's Mission

That's just a few that have come to mind, I'll post more later. happy

“Recognize meat for what it really is: the antibiotic- and pesticide-laden corpse of a tortured animal.” ~Ingrid Newkirk

"I think animals need all the help they can get, because they have none. They have no rights. They have no protection. And so I think animals need help. And I think animals look to humans for protection, and of course humans lead them into slaughterhouses, which to me is just like an image of leading children into a slaughterhouse. There's no difference. That level of trust and… But it's a very cruel world." Morrissey

"Veganism is not a "sacrifice." All you give up is your participation in an unjust and violent institution." - Gary L. Francione

Animals have a past, a story, a biography. They have histories . . . each is a unique somebody, not a disposable something. — Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson

" Man is truly king of the beasts for his cruelty exceeds all ".

"People are the only animals that drink the milk of the mother of another species. All other animals stop drinking milk altogether after weaning. It is unnatural for a dog to nurse from a mother giraffe; it is just as unnatural for a human being to drink the milk of a cow." ~ Michael Klaper

"I don't understand why asking people to eat a well-balanced vegetarian diet is considered drastic, while it is medically conservative to cut people open and put them on cholesterol-lowering drugs for the rest of their lives." - Dean Ornish, MD

Animals don't volunteer to become your food. they arrive at the slaughterhouse, kicking and screaming and, justifiably, scared for their lives. others languish for years in dairy or egg factories, before heading to the same fate. their flesh, their eggs, their milk, their lives are not mine to take. and i don't *need* ...to steal from them, the little that they have. so i don't. veganism is that simple. -Jill Umphlett

I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls.  They always say because it's such a beautiful animal.  There you go.  I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.  ~Ellen DeGeneres

"When non-vegetarians say that 'human problems come first' I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for human beings that compels them to continue to support the wasteful, ruthless exploitation of farm animals."
             - Peter Singer, 1975

I love this quote, although I do not personally agree with Singer's philosophical utilitarian reasoning for being vegan. But this quote still stands happy

I don't even know where it came from but this turned me vegan after 17 years of vegetarianism,

"Veganism is simply the acknowledgment that a fleeting and replaceable pleasure is not worth more than someone's life and liberty".

Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
-Stanislaw Jerzy Lec

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.
- Desmond Tutu

Poor animals! How jealously they guard their pathetic bodies…that which to us is merely an evening’s meal, but to them is life itself.
-T. Casey Brennan

"If a group of beings from another planet were to land on Earth -- beings who considered themselves as superior to you as you feel yourself to be to other animals--- would you concede them the rights over you that you assume over other animals?"
George Bernard Shaw

I like that one.. Cos it's sort of just straight to the point.. Calling their bodies pathetic, because to us, they're pathetic cos people jsut eat them.. It makes sense in a weird way ha
