these are things i like to always keep on hand:
(other than veggies of course!)
dried and canned beans (with dried just soak them overnight before you cook, canned are good for when you forget to soak haha)
canned and frozen veggies (stirfry mix, corn, peas etc)
falafel mix (you can use it to make veggie burgers by making a mash with your favourite veggies then adding the falafel mix to turn the mash into more of a dough and then fry it up)
pasta
rice
noodles
soy sauce
sweet chili sauce
jarred pasta sauce
some of the canned sanitarium products (the casserole mince is great for pasta, lasagna, tacos etc)
bread
peanut butter
jam
veggie stock
spice mixes (garam masala, seasoning salt, italian herbs and mexican spice mixes are always good to have around)
frozen chips/wedges
pre made veggie burgers
cereal/oats
non dairy milk
margarine
if you like cheese then some of the tofutti slices are always good to have around, theyre good for making 'parma's and on toasted sandwiches
nuts and seeds for snacking on
salsa
crackers
hommus
I like to have some things in the freezer for when I just feel like an easy dinner - Fry's schnitzels/burgers are pretty good, also sanitarium 'not' burgers and veggie sausages.
Lentils and 3 bean mix are good too ^_^
I'm interested in the products that you keep coming back to in your diets.
I'm a fairly new vegan (although I was a vegetarian before for many years) and I'm looking for new products to try.
I need to have nuttelex light, dr mcdougalls instant noodles/soups for emergency lunches, marinated tofu, brown rice, peanut butter, mixed nuts and rice cakes.
What are your pantry staples?
I see you're from SA!!! If you're anywhere near Adelaide, the store 'Everything Vegan' on Wright Street will be perfect for you!! It has everything and is owned by the people who run Freedom Hill Sanctuary.
