I ditched meat from my life since I saw how chickens, sheep, cows and pigs are suffering before being butchered. This made tears running from my eyes.

I talked with my mom and she supported my decision to become vegan. Also she told me that I don't eat meat at all. She'll make rice and oatmeal soon enough. I ate one apple this morning. Also I'll include cereals in my diet.

By becoming Vegetarian, I excluded from my diet these animal products-Honey Soy Chicken, Sausages, Steaks and of course, some Sushi with meat. Eggs that I receive from my chickens are eaten by them or given to my neighbor.

Any other non animal food suggestions?

Thanks

Nice work and welcome to a more ethical lifestyle happy have you also stopped eating fish and dairy...

Ohhh for dairy substitute try soy milk , rice milk or almond milk they are yum... You can even get vegan ice cream made from these happy

Ummm did you say you feed chickens their eggs? Please I really hope you don't... sad

Also because your new i thought i might also inform shed some further light as you seem quite passionate; have you heard about Palm oil, while palm oil is vegan the process of getting it are not they kill countless helpless animals so most of us began also stop eating foods or bying products that contain it too

Also be carefull of those E numbers they can sometimes hide animal ingredients for a quick list of which ones not to eat you can go to the website www.endcrulety.org. Or go to my page as I will upload the picture for you happy

Feeding chickens their eggs is actually healthy for them and stops the eggs from going to waste.

So... people used to think that eating meat was healthy too... And you could also argue that it would go to waste  - still doesn't make it ok... Your feeding them their potential baby's, not to mention that most of us vegans wouldn't even feed our companions meat or eggs for that matter how are chickens any different what because scientist claim it is healthier...It's chicken cannibalism! Not to mention in the other post this person wrote they said they feed them meat also... sad

People could also argue that it's healthy for a dog to eat eggs but we all know different...

Have you ever kept chickens? Studied chicken health? It is natural for chickens to eat the eggs they lay. The eggs are unfertilised, so they are not eating any potential babies. They have no concept of "cannibalism" the way humans do, and we have no right to impose ours on a behaviour that is entirely natural for them.  In fact, Farm Sanctuary in America lets their hens eat the eggs - you don't think they would know?

Chickens eating their own eggs, a behaviour entirely natural to them and causing no harm to other animals, is entirely different to feeding pets meat.

Congratulations! Becoming vegan is very rewarding and great for animals and our planet. It really is horrible the way animals are treated and I'm so happy you decided to do something about it.

Normally for breakfast I have oatmeal, a smoothie or cereal, for lunch i'll have salad and for dinner normally stir fry, curry, salad etc. Snacks are normally fruit, nuts or veggies with dip.

We're all here to support you on your journey to cruelty-free living so feel free to ask any questions you need!

I understand that the eggs are unfertilised that's why I said 'potential' babies... If they were fertilized then I would have said babies... It doesn't matter if chickens are aware or not if your knowingly and willingly feeding them it then it is wrong it's not the chickens fault... But it is cannabilisum, cannibalisum is eating any part of the same species which includes eggs as they do come from the chicken...

Chickens are Omnivores, they love to eat fruit, veggies, nuts, grains and even meat, Although its not essential to feed them meat if you feed them high protein grain happy I feed the eggs my chooks lay back to them as it is full of protein and vitamins and they absolutely love it! If i dont collect the eggs early enough they crack them open and eat them anyway tongue

Cannibalism is eating the flesh of the same species. The chickens are not doing that. There are no 'potential babies'. The yolk is not the chicken. The yolk is what the growing embryo eats. The yolk is produced in the chickens ovary. If it's not fertilised there is no 'potential baby'. There is no embryo.

I will reiterate "I understand that the eggs are unfertilised that's why I said 'potential' babies... If they were fertilized then I would have said babies" my point is that they COULD have been if fertilized if given the opportunity... Also this person has commented on another tread that they feed the chickens meat - most of us don't feed our other companions meat so why chickens??
