Cruelty Free Family Fun Day/Pet Expo

Caroline Springs Animal Welfare Network is organising a 'Family Fun Day-Pet Expo’. The proposed site for the Expo is CS Square and at this stage, the date we are looking at is Saturday 17th October 2009.

The aims of the day are to promote responsible pet ownership through distributing discount vouchers for pet desexing (through The Humane Society and local vets) as well as microchipping pets on the day for a nominal fee.

We would like to hand out showbags full of cruelty free goodies and information about how to get involved in animal activism and make a stand against animal cruelty and abuse. We aim to collaborate with other community groups and animal welfare/rescue groups in an aim to unite the community and bring awareness of animal rights to the forefront. The day will be peaceful in nature as there are lots of young families in the area. Proposed activities and features of the day include: having well treated and rescued animals from Edgar’s Mission, a band and or musicians, a big slide or something similar and of course vegetarian sausage sizzles and food vans.

As our group is primarily about education, we would be happy to have other animal welfare charities/groups along to promote their fine work for free (providing the hire of the grounds is cheap for us). Cruelty free businesses are also welcome to hold a stall in exchange for a donation towards our group.

We are currently seeking corporate sponsors and cruelty free business stall holders for the event. As you can imagine, promotion, printing and advertising cost a huge amount, especially for a non-profit group such as ours.

Corporate sponsors and supporters will feature in our advertising and promotion of the event as well as be highlighted in our Monthly Newsletter and the Ethical Business Guide.

If you are able to help or know a business who can help with sponsorship, please contact me asap. Similarly, if you would like to hold a stall on the day, please call me.

C/springs is in the west, near Melton- sorry for the seriously late reply.
I'm really struggling to get everything together for the event as I have been stuffed around with venues and have had to change at the last minute.

Stay tuned for updates

hey guys... a big thanks to those who offered to help but unfortunately i think the event will need to be cancelled until further notice. Im so disappointed but I have been stuffed around with venues and only just received all the paperwork (event plan) for the latest venue. I doubt I will have enough time to organise a successful event. I have also struggled to secure Public Liability Insurance.

Keep posted for updates/ a new proposed date.
