The fruitatian diet is not a 'diet' of course
Okay, pal.
there are two ways the word diet is used...
1, in the sense of describing your eating patterns aka dietary intake; thus this could be used as saying i have a vegan diet... without any reference to a 'diet' for losing weight.
2, to describe that you have now changed your dietary eating habits in hope to lose weight. Thus this option of use originated from the above word use.
So what he means by 'fruitarian diet' is the same as saying 'fruitarian lifestyle' which is describe as word use 1 above and where he has added 'diet' in the below quote he means the 2nd word use.

I think this is where all this confusion has started in the first place with people amping up about the original poster calling it a 'diet'... however like the first poster and 4_da_animals1 has mentioned it is actually really good for your as it cleanses your body of toxins. The claims that it is unhealthy; I'm not sure of... and to be serious and provide clarification into my said view... people though for 100's of years that vegan diet (aka lifestyle) isn't good for you, yet now we know different... also I agree with 4_da_animals in regards to the sustainability for this diet (lifestyle)... thus the reason bread was invented...
Also i too would also like to point out that fruitarian diet (lifestyle) means to eat parts of a plant... so long as it isn't killing the entire plant... so even though the name gives off the vibe 'fruit' is also allow allot of vegetables too.
