Im am 14 years old and I really hate animal cruelty.I desperatly want to be vegetarian, but my parents tell me i can when I'm older confused

I own 14 chickens and two dogs. All my chickens have names and they are my "Pride and Joy" in life.
When I grow up, I want to be a rural vetinarian, but also want to work with cats and dogs.
I am also into home produce and wish to have a huge vegie garden soon.
I am also into the arts especially performing arts. I do Ballet and hope to join a company later on.
