I've been vegetarian since I was about 10 years old. My family is vego but they let me make up my own mind and didn't force their beliefs on me. I have influenced many people in my life in this way. I think it is better to be gentle but firm in your beliefs and when educating others to try not to shove things down their throats. This only causes them to becomed defensive of their life choices and resentful towards you.
