My desk draw just sneezed. It often sneezes or makes a little whimpering sound induced by a bad dream. This is because at least one of my two little ferrets are in it most of the day sleeping. They have the whole house to play in but they choose my smelly, hard, wooden desk draw because it's the closest dark place they can find to be near me while I am working. I adopted Horst and Tina a year and a half ago from the Ferret Welfare Society of NSW. This is now their third home, but they march about like they have owned the place (and me) their whole lives.

I have always been a bit of a hippie at heart. I grew up with muso parents, my Mum the lead singer in a hard hitting 80s punk rock band and my Dad a brilliant guitarist. I didn't inherit their musical talents but I reckon I learnt from them to think outside the square and not always blindly follow the sheep... I mean humans...

I love all animals, when I was a little girl I was determined to be a vet when I grew up. My first job at 15 was in a vet clinic, but I soon realised I was much more suited to the arts than science. I ended up studying Design Communications and am now halfway through a diploma of Holistic Counseling and Life Coaching. The skills I've gained from all of this have really helped me with the work I do for Animals Australia Unleashed..... It goes to show you don't have to be a vet or a politician to help make a big difference fighting for the animals!!!

When I'm not at my desk with the fuzz-bots there's a good chance you'll find me out at a gallery or exhibition, watching a black comedy, at the front row of a mosh pit, on a yoga mat or just chilling with my friends and family and a huge plate of vego food...
