Hi my name is Russell I live in Townsville Queensland Australia, for those of you that don't know where that is I basically just save it is up where Nemo lives, although I have not done any diving lately.
I am became a vegan cold turkey as of 1/10/11, and as of the writing of this I have saved 12 animals, although I did have a fall from grace over a forbidden box of my wifes choclolates. So let's say 11.5 lives.
I became a vegan for a number of reasons which will be the main body of my writings in this experience, I plan to keep a little journal to reflect and use as reassurance during my journey, and just because I feel like writing
I am married with a sixteen year old daughter, who has also recently decided to give veganism a shot too. She commenced 1/11/11 (Wooo thats a lot of ones)
I am a qualified chef with more than 22 years of experience behind me, I started my cooking career in the Royal Australian Air Force back in 1990. I stayed with the RAAF for four years and learned very good basic skills and how to be fast and be able to keep up a fast pace all day, so in other words I can chop up a lot of food in a short period of time. This has been invaluable throughout my cooking career. Because of the freedom and rationing scale the air force had I was able to explore lot's of areas from soups to sweets and everything inbetween.
