Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could enjoy delicious pizza knowing that you were raising much needed funds for animals with each bite? Then to become known amongst your friends as the 'King' or 'Queen' of Pizza!? Well now you can!
If you're in Melbourne, grab a bunch of friends and head to Bimbo Deluxe (Fitzroy) or Lucky Coq (Windsor). Then challenge your mates to a pizza eating contest! But here's the catch, you can only raise the money by ordering Pizza Uno from the menu...
As part of the Pimp My Pizza 2010 competition, animal lover Jacqui Townsend has come up with the most delicious vegan pizza around, and dubbed it 'Pizza Uno'. And her enticing creation is so appetizing it has beaten more than 60 other doughy designs to make it into the final six.
Each time someone orders a scrumptious Pizza Uno (at only $5 a pop) Animals Australia gets a bit of the dough — 50¢ to be exact. Each purchase of this mouth watering creation is worth 10 votes, and for those that are nowhere near these ultimate pizzerias, voting can also be done here online. We have until September 17th!
If Pizza Uno receives the most votes of the finalists, a donation of a whopping $2000 is made to the charity of Jacqui's choice – Animals Australia! A further piece of the pie will also be donated with each slice sold as Pizza Uno will be gracing the menu boards for an additional three months if it takes out top prize.
We want to see photos and vids of you and your pizza posse stuffing your faces in the nicest possible way (the cruelty free way!), and you could even get featured on the Unleashed blog.
Not in Melbourne? Never fear! There are amazing pizza places Australia wide that cater for vegetarians/vegans with some of the most delectable cruelty-free pizzas you could ever lay your tastebuds on. Hold your own Pizza Eating Contest there! Don't forget to vote online for Pizza Uno though, upload your photos, and add how many pizzas you polished off to the scoreboard on the Unleashed forum!
PIZZA UNO is: oven roasted tomatoes, garlic, rocket, soya cheese, with toasted pinenuts and kalamata olives on a gourmet crispy base ... this pizza is not only good for you, it's great for animals too!
