Japan's whaling fleet aims to harpoon around a thousand minke, fin and humpback whales in Antarctic waters each year, causing these majestic animals to suffer extreme and prolonged pain before they've finally bled to death. In 2011, the Japanese ended their whaling season a month earlier than planned, but in 2012 and 2013 they have set sail again to the Antarctic to resume the killing. « Less
