Help Stop the Sale of Dog Fur (and ALL fur) in Australia!

Cruelty is never in fashion

These frightened dogs are victims of the barbaric fur trade. They're not alone; rabbits, foxes, minks and other animals will suffer the same horrific fate – being brutally killed for their skin -- they may be electrocuted, drowned or even skinned alive. We can help prevent this suffering. Take action now!

Help Stop the Sale of Dog Fur (and ALL fur) in Australia!

There's been a lot of controversy lately about whether Australian stores are selling garments made with dog fur. These products may be on sale even though it is illegal to import any products made from dog or cat fur into the country.

So how does this happen? Products made with dog or cat fur are often deliberately mislabelled as 'rabbit', 'fox' or 'raccoon dog' meaning it's easy for them to end up on clothes racks in Australian stores. The bans are almost impossible to police because it's hard to distinguish between dog fur and fur from other animals that can be imported legally.

Most fur comes from China where there are no animal welfare laws. Around 2 million dogs and cats are killed for their fur in China each year. Many millions more rabbits, minks, foxes and other animals are also victims of this heartless industry -- many are even fully conscious as they are skinned alive.

Every single fur product causes unnecessary cruelty and suffering -- no matter which tortured animal it was stolen from. It's time we made compassion the new fashion. Please help us call on the Australian Government to extend the import ban on dog and cat fur to include all fur products.
