It is very clear that a cruelty-free Australia is very low on the list of the Abbott government. I don't think they seem to care about much except for lining the pockets of their rich friends. If live animal export helps that goal, then they'll support live animal export. If eroding any progress made towards the phasing out of factory farming brings in a dollar, than they'll support factory farming. It is clear they do not care about people, and much less about animals.
On 15 and 16 November there are going to be rallies and marches against Abbott. It will be during the G20, so there will be lots of reporters around, including from the international press. It's a great time to make some noise.
