I've always been very keen on having a pen-pal so I was thinking that maybe we should have a forum thread of people who want to pen-pal over mail. Wouldn't it be exciting to send and receive letters from a new friend? Obviously people aren't going to want to write down their address but if you leave your email people could request to become your pen-pal and you exchange addresses!
You might think there's no point but that's not true! We've lost our old methods of contact by the new wave of technology; eg. phones, computers, laptops. Technology can be a pain in the neck so why not use the method of communication we've been using for thousands of years?
I'd advise your first letters to be almost a fact profile of who you are and what you like! So talk about your favorite TV show, music, pets, family etc.
After that take turns sending a letter and maybe you'll even send a little gift every now and then to symbolise where you live or from an event you've been to!
If you leave your email, name (first, last or both) and age you're leaving open the opportunity to make friends with someone in this country or maybe overseas!
