Myself I basically make the majority of my meals based on:
- a whole grain (e.g. brown rice, oats, etc)
- a legume (e.g. chickpeas, soy beans, kidney beans, lentils etc.)
- vegetables
- a small amount of healthy fat (e.g. chopped walnuts, seseme seeds, chopped avocado).
I just vary the selection of grains, legumes, vegetables, nuts/seeds, across my meals. And I snack on fruit mainly. That's how I do it (plus, I supplement B12).
