I'm going to keep this short, I am new here! I found this site from a friend and I love it already!!! My name is Indiana, I am 17, born in Alabama, USA happy
Please send me a friend request (can u do that? sorry im not use to this site yet)
Annnyyyway, I'm looking for some advice. I have always adored people who are strong enough to become vegan and vegetarian AHH you don't understad how much respect I have for you all!
I REALLY want to turn vegan, I guess I'm just looking for any advice or stories from when you turned vegetarian/vegan. Is it hard? when you're vegan, do you basically eat fruits and vegetables? SORRY IF THATS UNTRUE!
ps: I'm not sure what time this will post in Australia, It's 10:40am over here happy xo
pps: just found out it's around 1am in australia! oops

No problem Indiana, you can post any time.

I'd recommend the various nutrition advice of Virginia Messina...
Her plant plate is a good guide.

If you have some time spare, maybe have a look around this site. There are reviews of cookbooks and other resources.
As they both say, make sure you get a reliable source of B12.

You might like the friendly&factual advice of Heather Nicholds.
For example her advice about protein and a bunch of other topics, and her recipe ideas.

Myself I basically make the majority of my meals based on:
- a whole grain (e.g. brown rice, oats, etc)
- a legume (e.g. chickpeas, soy beans, kidney beans, lentils etc.)
- vegetables
- a small amount of healthy fat (e.g. chopped walnuts, seseme seeds, chopped avocado).
I just vary the selection of grains, legumes, vegetables, nuts/seeds, across my meals. And I snack on fruit mainly. That's how I do it (plus, I supplement B12).

P.s. Here's another one that I know many women like.

And if you're on a tight $ budget, some tips.

These lentil burgers look pretty tasty - might make em soon.
