dont always trust the labels

Sure, happy to! The issue with labelling is that there are no definitive terms for companies in regards to branding a product cruelty-free. Because there are no legal definitions for products not tested on animals, it is possible that companies use them to their own ends.

It isn't always possible to tell if a company is 100% cruelty free just based on its labelling. Some companies may contract out tests on animals when vetting certain ingredients or products yet label its finished products as cruelty-free. It is possible that companies are using ingredients that have been tested on animals at some point, but if they haven't performed the tests themselves they can claim that "

Choose cruelty free and Peta both have their cruelty free accredited companies in handy pocket sized lists. You can email them to ask for one.
