The Humane Guide is list of all companies endorsed for their humane status by Beauty without Cruelty. These companies have been audited by BWC and have proved they do not test their products on animals by passing our criteria. BWC has almost 60 companies endorsed, and the list is growing.
About Our Approved Ranges
Our approved list of products is known as the BWC *Humane Guide, for short. It is focussed on the issue of Animal Testing and in line with and exceeds international standards.
The BWC approved list does not provide information about the composition of ingredients. Because ingredient information is available —and required by law— we know that conscientious consumers can read labels to discover whether products are vegan or not. For this reason BWC validates information that is not readily available to consumers, such as animal testing claims. Many BWC approved companies are committed to manufacturing natural and vegan products; however, the BWC audit process can only certify the animal testing component of this process.
We have listed vegan only options on the site, in a separate list. Many brands are mostly vegan with one or a few products containing one of the above ingredients. We do not approve parts of ranges.
