Do you believe that pigs are intelligent, sensitive creatures that don't deserve to be farmed and eaten just because they taste good? Does the "Get Some Pork On Your Fork" slogan annoy the heck out of you?

Me too.

So, I came up with a slogan of my own to counteract that awful one. It is "Let Your Pork Walk". I simply mean, don't choose to eat pigs, choose instead to let them be free of shameful exploitation and unnecessary cruelty.

To share my slogan with others, I created a Facebook page called Let Your Pork Walk. There are two things I'd love to see happen. The first is quite simple - anyone who has chosen, or chooses, to stop eating pigs Likes the page and then shares it on to their friends and family and spreads the word.

The second though is more important. Any time you see the Get Some Pork On Your Fork slogan somewhere, if you can, just say "Let Your Pork Walk" instead. Maybe if enough people do this, the message will start to get out that we don't need to eat pigs and treat them so cruelly for nothing but entertainment.

Please, visit my page and have a read, and if you like what you see and choose not to eat pigs anymore, Like my page.

Always worth a shot but I doubt it would get much reaction. What needs to happen through all of the websites and Facebook pages and so on is that people learn more about what eating pigs means and begin to vote with their wallets. The industry will never change of its own accord. It only exists because people buy their 'product'.

The thing is, no-one NEEDS to eat a pig. People do it cos they like it.  So we treat pigs awfully for entertainment...

Don't eat pigs. It's that simple. Let your pork walk.
