Just this week, volunteers from Duo Duo traveled to Yulin, China to meet with animal advocates and bring back dogs rescued from the dog slaughter house. San Francisco's CBS local news covered the group's return to San Francisco with its adorable passengers in tow. The report highlighted the horrific trade in various parts of China, including Guangdong Province, California's newly minted "sister state." The Yulin Dog Meat festival is planned again for June, 2016. Help build an enormous voice to save 10,000 dogs and pups. We need millions to speak out to force China's president to act before this year's festival.

dogs still at-risk, dog meat trade 365 days a year
Thanks to our successful crowdfunding campaign, we can fund projects, we only hoped possible. To date, Duo Duo Project has funded medical costs, transportation and housing costs for 172 dogs rescued by the Humane Society International from the Yulin Dog Meat Festival. Other items that have been generously funded have long term reach including a comprehensive mobile spay neuter program, emergency funding for at-risk dogs or rescues, vet services supplies, portable x-ray, ultrasound, stretchers and surgical equipment.

Recently, Duo Duo Project introduced our Yulin365 initiative to end the dog and cat meat trade in China -- combining “Yulin,” the recognized epicenter for dog meat with the need to be vigilant 365 days a year about the cruelty and criminality of the trade. Yulin365 builds awareness and support for ending the dog and cat meat trade while funding programs that educate all generations on the rewards of pet ownership and the benefit of animals in healthcare, so that people rethink eating dog and cat. Some funds raised will support these programs.
