Since the exciting announcement, everyone wondered what dairy alternative will be the main ingredient. There are so many different options that can be used to create a flavorful dairy-free ice cream, but Ben and Jerry's decided they will be using the one and only, almond milk.

The company wrote in a statement, "Besides being a favorite choice among vegans and other dairy-alternative-seekers, almond milk proved to be the best choice as an ice cream base, beating out soy milk, cashew milk and other contenders for our Flavor Gurus' favor."

Since many people are adopting a vegan diet, it only makes sense that popular food companies are crafting cruelty-free products that appeal to them. It provides a great message that you don't have to give up the tasteful pleasures of certain foods if you're vegan or even lactose intolerant. You can satisfy your sweet tooth, while benefiting your health, the planet, and the animals.

No information has been revealed about the upcoming flavors, but we're sure they will all be delicious! Ben and Jerry's vegan line will be released sometime this year. Be sure to keep an eye out for them!
