I can't take it anymore, it makes me so angry to know that all day, every day animals are being harmed. Yesterday whilst stopped at a red light, a truck full of cows drove past and I SERIOUSLY contemplated smashing my car into the driver. I couldn't handle it, knowing what was about to happen to them, they looked so innocent and beautiful. How can people look animals in the eyes and murder them? I just can't fathom how people can do it, without a conscience. I just can't take it anymore. When I first went vegan I didn't hold any anger towards animal eaters nor did I push my beliefs onto anyone but as time goes by it is getting harder for me to understand how people can do it? How do you cope? sad

Hi Jessica. Thanks for posting here. I know how you're feeling. Sometime's everything seems so overwhelming and it feels like we're getting nowhere. But in fact, the opposite is true. Every day the world gets a little bit kinder for animals and when you start to feel overwhelmed, I always find it helpful to remind myself of the progress that we're making. More and more people are choosing to eat less animal products or to go vegetarian than ever before. In fact, 1 in 4 Australians are reducing their meat consumption or are vegetarian. This means millions of animals will be spared from a lifetime of suffering every year. This movement will only continue as animal-free products become more readily available and awareness about the welfare, environmental and health benefits of eating vegetarian food continues to grow. We are at a momentous time for animals and although it can be hard sometimes, it's important that we continue to remind ourselves of the positive change happening every day for animals.

Factory farming is perhaps one of the problems that is the most overwhelming in terms of sheer scale. But this article is a great little summary of the signs that we're actually winning the war against factory farming happy Check it out:

We're always here if you need to talk Jessica. Thanks for everything you do to help animals.

I know how you feel, I often struggle to get my head around the cruelty and suffering these animals go through. Ive only recently gone vegan but now I wish I'd done it years ago.

I can relate, and I definitely want to work towards change on this issues. I would try to step back from it all and not focus so much on the epic scale of what is going on. Think of it more singular in the sense that all animals are are one, but seen as many. That way you can see it more like there is suffering, but not so much counting the individual cases of suffering that is going on. I think in our head we might sometimes add up the suffering and multiply it per animal and it seems so overwhelmingly bad to a degree that can almost make us crippled with anger and feelings of helplessness regarding the whole issue. Just some thoughts and anything is possible, always remember that.

Just by being vegan you save 198 Animals a Year, that's more than a truck load. I know it's hard but be proud that you are making such a huge difference for these beautiful creatures.

Hello Jessica,
Sorry for what you had to experience. We see it on a daily, and the only way to not feel guilty and disappointed at such acts is  by doing something about it. Whatever effort you personally put into stopping any kind of cruelty is good. When we join such efforts, then our animals become much more protected. I'll advise that you visit the 'activist' section of the forum and try to see whether you can take part in any event or campaign against animal torture. Let's join hands in protecting our animals.
