Hi new friends,

A few days ago I made a poll about the support that new begans had from close friends and relatives: https://q.votechimp.com/Mfr1Ju

And I'd like to know your opinions about the results, as well as your experience, was it difficult or easy?

Thanks friends!

I'm lucky that I'm of an age that I don't give a **** what people say. so for me it was easy happy

Also why don't mention about Votechimp http://votechimp.com/ which seems to be the reason why you are here?

I guess for me it wasn't support as much as understanding.  I didn't have support where I had friends and family who encouraged it but they were understanding so when we picked a restaurant to catch up, they would be nice enough to pick ones with decent vegan options (rather than just a garden salad! happy)

I didn't really have any support when I went vegetarian at 10 years old.. my family are big meat eaters and my brother would try and sneak meat into my meals. He's a GP so he thought I would miss out on nutrition only derived from animals... Because I had no one to talk to about it and the internet was still new for consumers back then, I ended up getting sick a few times due to low iron and just plain malnutrition. I learned from that though and never went back to eating meat (I was still eating dairy and a couple of times a year I might eat fish). I did my own research and made my own food and now I have HIGH iron levels ecstatic I'm a personal trainer who also had a full time day job. There is no way I could do the things I do without an adequate diet. My family now are mostly accepting of it but they really don't 'get it' and probably never will happy But that's okay. We don't all have to be on the same journey happy
