Who could hurt a koala?
Two men in Victoria who bludgeoned a koala and then threw it on a camp fire while it was still alive have gotten away with only a community service sentence, according to a report on SMH.
After bludgeoning the koala with a machete, the men threw this innocent animal onto the camp fire, where it burned to death.
This horrendous crime of extreme animal cruelty should have led to jail time, but they are both walking away with a slap on the wrist. They were originally sentenced to confinement at a Youth Justice Centre, but appealed their sentences and were re-sentenced to community service.
