Also just to clarify one of the old questions, Red Rooster chips are in no way vegan, they contain beef tallow (fat).

I had nandos the other day, they swore blind to me (and a quick google on my iphone seemed to confirm this) that the veggie pattie pita/burger/wrap whatever is vegan as long as you take the mayo out. The server did go to great pains to tell me that they are cooked on the same grill as the chicken, so I guess it depends on how strict you are.

I notice the website states that the veggie pita/burger/wraps state in the allergin info contains egg and dairy. Im assuming this is just in the mayo (as there is no breakdown of individual ingredients of each component) as the guy went and got the allergin sheet and assured me without mayo that it was vegan... Then he went and checked with the manager (and my sneaky quick google seemed to confirm this) so i was the proud consumer of a veggie pita (minus mayo) when I was out and about on the weekend happy

I would like to see this thread revived and hear lots more vegan fast food options.

My hubby likes to have fitchips (oven cooked chip chain here in WA)

And Ive also had some discussions with the people at Salsas mexican grill takeaway chain and decided that their veggie bowl is vegan as long as you minus the cheese and the ranch sauce, I think the same would apply to their salsa nachos as long as you make sure to minus the cheese, sour cream and any ranch sauce

happy Being vegan is still great, despite minor inconvieniences from time to time

Salsa's food is about as mexican as Canada! Guzman y Gomez and Mad Mex have vegan burrito/taco/bowl options and are wayyy tastier happy The veggie burrito at GYG has beans, onion, capsicum, mushrooms, and rice - just be sure to ask for no cheese. And watch out if you're at the Burrito Bar - their Gold Coast location seems incapable of leaving the cheese off.

Definitely do not trust Subway. They use palm oil and yes, they use emulsifiers of uncertain origins. Their website has all the ingredients. Hard to trust any fast food store.

Does anyone know what's in red rooster gravy?
And what's in their salt?
My sister is eating it?
There's no doubt in my mind it would have beef stock in it like stated above.
IF they make it anything like KFC does, they will use all the random shit/fat in the filter at the bottom of the deep frying vat. You seriously don't want to eat that shit.

uggh!!

Cut up some potato into wedges, and bake it! then make some vegan gravy by sauteeing onion mushroom and garlic, then adding a cup of water with a tablespoon of vege stock and 3 tablespoons of cornflour in it, let thicken. The most amazing gravy you will ever eat, even all my meat eater friends love it!
i've been told that red rooster use animal fat to fry their chips. certain or not, i stay away.

McDonald's Chips (according to their site) are cooked in Canola oil. And I think their vegan. (Weird chemical names like dextrose have no idea what that is)
*Dances* that puts peace in my mind next time my family goes to McDonald's. (I'm the only vegetarian)
Here is the link to site. Scroll down to french fries.
