I don't know about you guys, but I am horrified that jump racing is allowed to continue. It is disgusting, the number of horses that die from this cruel sport cannot be justified and needs to be stopped. I sent an email trying to convice the commitee to ban it, but I suppose they care more about money than the lives of innocent animals.
Ooooh yes jumps racing irritates me so so so much. I was at art class and my teachers husband walks in (who is actually apart of a racing committee) and he started going on about how he was "talking to Hulls today" (which Im presuming is Robert Hulls MP, the minister responsible for the controlment of horse racing) and how hes had enough of these "bloody crazy kooks that dont understand".
I was just sitting there like 0_o and didnt know what to say....
But yeah I once did some volunteer work at the Mounted Police Force games day and spoke to alot of avid horsey-people and even they were disgusted by jumps racing, saying that it takes the equine industry way too far.
I can't stand how ignorant people can be about issues concerning animal rights etc, they would rather just ignore it and pretend it isn't happening.
ps. I do art as well I'm hoping to do something about vegetarianism/animal rights as my body of work at the end of the year, but I'm not sure what yet...
