Huh?

If you went to that school... wouldn't it mean you're interested in becoming a farmer or something? need more info.

At the minute I go to an Agricultural University... They do intensive pig, chicken and keep diary cows...

I hate the way the animals are treated, and we have to do classes in the pig sheds and everything once a week... But I don't regret coming here... It is a real eye opener seeing it first hand, and I have learnt a lot about the whole industry while up here...

It is absolutely disgusting seeing the animals kept that way... and for days after people will come up to me and be like 'Oh Libby, you must be so sad about the pigs in the cages'....

I tell them I am very sad about it but I don't see why I should be all that sad seeing as I am NOT the one eating the meat and KEEPING them IN the cages and pens.

People get annnoyed at that.

So if it is always where you have wanted to go, don't just be put off by that stuff, plus you could open a few peoples eyes while you are up there... I know I have ecstatic

And you don't have to want to be a farmer or something... I wanted to be a Vet...

Also we have people majoring in Plant studies and stuff... so it isn't all meat based...

Hmm yes you need to provide more information. And is it a primary school, a high school, or a P-12?

My school also has an agriculture course.... one of the main reasons why they didnt allow me to start an animal rights group.

well overall its really your decision, if you've always wanted to go there then go for it!
you don't have to make the decision right away, your not going to highschool next term , you've still got the rest of the year.
if your really unsure maybe check out some other high schools where people you know are going and see what suits you best.
you can start there and go for a year/semester etc and see if you like it, then if you don't maybe talk to your parents about going to a second choice?
and like people have said if you go there you can always inform people and with everything around them it might even be easier to inform.

good-luck with high-school, and just go to where you want to go. if its urrbrae then go, if not then go where you do want to go.
