I got a phone call from CommBank and the news is big. Last week, CommBank’s Board rejected the bank’s proposed new climate policy. They’ve sent it back to the drawing board, and in two months’ time, they’ll review it again.

Before our campaign, CommBank was on track for business as usual. But because of you, the Board has been forced to take another look at its policy on climate change. This decision means that:

1. Our pressure is working. The Board clearly knows the community’s eyes are on them, and they don’t want to rush through a new climate policy.

2. We have more time to lock in a commitment to a cleaner future. As the bank reworks the climate policy over the next two months, it’s critical that we ramp up the pressure.
